Senior BA Exhibit II opens March 7th, 2011!

"Color: Of Old and New"

As a part of my last semester of college, it is required that every senior in the art department displays some of their work during the BA Exhibit and I just finished putting my pieces up today for the second exhibit which opens March 7th, 2011 in the Roland Dille Center for the Arts gallery at MSU-Moorhead. The exhibit will be up until March 29th, with the formal reception on March 10th form 4pm - 6pm. So if your in the area, stop by and check out my work up on display! To the right is a photo I took today after installing my series "Color: Of Old and New". So excited!

My Engagement Photos!!

Last Saturday (2/19) my fiancee and I had the great opportunity to have our engagement photos taken by Laura Radniecki and I absolutely LOVE them! She is soo incredibly talented and really fun to work with. I cannot WAIT for my wedding and I am 100% sure I chose the right photographer to capture it (Her and I are so similar in style and personality!). Posted below is just a sample of the images we got. Take a look at what I've been working on!

For my last photo class, as a senior, we are required to come up with one cohesive project which, for me, will consist of 30 images. I decided to work with a flatbed scanner and scan in flowers and than edit them in photoshop. This has been both fun and frustrating - I'm enjoying working with something else besides a camera, but coming across flowers at this time a year is challenging - Im having to buy them all as of now. However, I am pleased with the results so far so I decided to share a few images! Enjoy!

Meet the newest member of my Nikon family :)

So today I finally gave in and purchased the Nikon Speedlight SB-600!! I am soooo incredibly excited to start photographing with it. But first I have to figure out how to use it :). I'm a newbie when it comes to external flash units. The one I had prior to my SB-600 was very limited in what it could do and now the possibilities seem endless for me! I'll post photos using my new speedlight as soon as I can! This will make indoor shooting at weddings 100%  easier and more flexible.

31st Annual College Photography Contest FINALIST!! :D

Hi everyone! I recently found out that my photograph, "Wedding Lilacs", was chosen as one of the 100 or so finalists for the 31st Annual college photography contest out of the 13,960 photographs that were entered! Below is the photo I entered into the contest and following that is the letter I received! I'll update once they announce the final winners - I'm hoping to be one of them.
